Mutual Benefit - real name Jordan Lee - is responsible for some of the most gorgeously dreamy folk-tinged pop of the year, as he shares the latest taste and the final track from his forthcoming Skip A Sinking Stone LP, due 20 May on Transgressive; and what a way to finish the record. In his own words Lee explains, “The first song on the album is about being scared that things won’t work out and 'The Hereafter' is about learning to let go and finding peace in ‘murky depths where light is found’ when they inevitably don’t.” His whispering falsetto pours out above swooning layers of strings, harp and piano in a cooling bucolic hue that recalls the likes of Midlake and Fleet Foxes.
